Straight answers.

No. Forestry mulching takes standing brush and small timber down to chip and leaves it on the ground as cover. It does not remove roots. If the ground is going to carry a building, a drive or a finished lawn, the stumps and root mat have to come out and the holes have to be filled and compacted.

It stays on site as chip. That is the point of the method. The chip covers the ground and helps hold soil on a slope, and there is no pile left for anyone to deal with.

Mulching is fine for the parts of the lot that stay as ground cover. It is the wrong job for the build pad, the drive and the lawn area. Those need the stumps and root mat taken out first. We walk the lot and mark the line before any clearing starts.

It depends on what is under it. If there is still enough stone and the base is sound, regrading puts the shape back and that is the whole job. If the stone has worn thin, more goes on after the shape is right. If the base has failed, neither one lasts and the soft material has to come out.

Not if the low spot is taken out. A pothole comes back when stone is dropped into it and the dip is left in place. Cutting and reshaping the surface around it gives the water a way off, and that is what stops it forming again.

Usually, yes. The water has to be given another route, so the job is shape and drainage first. That can mean a crown, a reopened ditch or a pipe under the drive. More stone on its own will wash again.

Yes. Topsoil is soft and it settles, so it is stripped from under the building and piled to one side. It goes back on at the end for the finish grade and seed.

No. Mulching leaves the roots in the ground, and roots under a pad rot and let it settle. The footprint has to be cleared and grubbed, and the stump holes filled and compacted. Mulching is fine for the ground around the building.

Yes. The same crew can cut and stone the drive, the apron and a turnaround while the machines are on site.
