Commercial and Residential Snow Removal in Whitestown
Whitestown is the fastest-growing town in Indiana, and most of that growth is warehouses along I-65 and the housing that followed them. Snow removal here is weighted to commercial ground: truck courts, dock aprons and employee lots that run through every storm. The new subdivisions add HOA entrances and private streets. Travis plows, salts and hauls on both, on seasonal contracts written per site.

Snow removal in Whitestown
Warehouses along I-65
The corridor around Whitestown has been cut into distribution sites, with long buildings, truck courts the size of fields and employee lots on the other side. Trucks run on those sites in every kind of weather, so the court and the dock aprons are cleared first, the entrance drive and the gate next, then the parking and the walks. The order is written into the contract, along with the hours each area has to be open.
A truck court is flat and wide, and the snow has to go somewhere that does not cost dock space or block the trailer parking. The pile spots are set on bare pavement in the fall, away from the docks, hydrants and storm inlets. When they fill, the skid steer and trucks load them out. The commercial snow removal contracts page covers how a site like that is scoped.
Ice on a truck court
Central Indiana gets a few real snows a winter and more freezing rain than anyone wants. On a big flat court the ice is the harder problem. A plowed court glazes over when the melt from the piles spreads across the pavement and the temperature drops at night. Trucks braking at the dock and drivers walking from the cab to the door are where it matters most, and that is where the salt goes first.
The contract says when salt goes down: with every plowing, only when there is ice, or when the site asks. It lists the areas by name, so the dock aprons, the walks from the trailer lot and the building entrances are never left out. Keeping the inlets clear lets the melt leave instead of spreading back across the court. On a site this flat, that matters.
Anson and the new housing
The town annexed about six and a half thousand acres south of the old downtown in the late 2000s, and the Anson development grew up on that ground. Around it and across the town, new subdivisions keep going in, nearly all of them with associations. The town plows the public streets. The entrances, common drives, mailbox clusters, paths and any streets the HOA owns are the association's to clear, not the town's.
New neighborhoods also have lots still being built, with construction entrances that have to stay open for concrete trucks and deliveries. A builder can put those on one agreement, with the plow riding high on the stone so the entrance keeps its surface. The HOA board decides its own trigger depth and salting, and the windrow at the entrance goes into the contract too.
Shops, offices and churches
The commercial ground along the interstate is not only warehouses. Offices, shops, restaurants, medical buildings and churches have gone up to serve the people who moved in. Each has its own hours: the office before the workday, the restaurant before lunch, the church before services. The route is planned around those hours, which go into the agreement up front so nobody argues about them in the middle of a storm.
Walks, storefront entrances and the steps to the door are listed separately from the lot, because that is where people slip. They are cleared and salted on the same visit. Lots that run out of room are hauled, so the parking that is there on a dry day is still there in February, after three or four snows have come and gone.
Who plows what in Whitestown
Whitestown was laid out in 1851 when the railroad reached it, and for most of its history it was a small town beside the tracks. It now sits across Worth, Perry and Eagle townships, with interstate traffic on one side and farm ground on another. The town plows its streets, the county plows the county roads outside the town limits, and the state handles I-65. Private lots, drives and HOA streets are the owners'.
On the farm ground still left around town there are long drives and lanes that drift where the wind comes off open fields. Those are plowed to the stone, with the edges staked before the ground freezes. Homeowners there can call when it snows or put the drive on a seasonal agreement. The snow removal hub for central Indiana covers the rest of the service.

Questions people ask
Not seeing yours? Call (317) 203-8928 and ask Travis, or read the guides.
Can a Whitestown distribution site get a seasonal snow contract?
Yes. The agreement lists the truck court, dock aprons, entrance and gate, employee lot and walks in the order they are cleared, plus the trigger, the salting and whether pile hauling is included. The site is walked in the fall so docks, inlets, hydrants and curbs are marked on bare pavement. Travis gives one figure for the scope.
Does the town plow streets in Anson and the new subdivisions?
The town plows public streets. Streets an HOA still owns, and the entrances, common drives, mailbox clusters and paths, are the association's to clear. In a neighborhood that is still being built, ask the developer or the town whether the streets have been accepted yet. The plat and the HOA documents say which is which.
Where does the snow go on a full truck court?
To pile spots chosen on bare pavement in the fall, away from the docks, trailer parking, hydrants and storm inlets. When those fill, the skid steer loads the snow into trucks and it is moved to an agreed spot on the property or off it. That keeps dock space and trailer parking open for the rest of the winter.
Can a builder get snow plowing for lots under construction?
Yes. Stone construction entrances are plowed so concrete trucks and deliveries can get in, with the snow pushed away from footings and open holes. The plow rides high on the stone so the entrance keeps its surface, since it often becomes the base of the finished drive. Several lots can go on one agreement.
How is ice handled on a large warehouse lot?
The contract sets when salt goes down, with every plowing, only on ice or on request, and lists the areas by name: dock aprons, walks from the trailer lot, entrances and steps. Inlets are kept clear so the melt drains instead of spreading across the court and freezing overnight. Piles go where their melt runs off.
